Ballarat East is the oldest and fifth most populated area in Ballarat, with an estimated 4,995 locals. The site of the richest alluvial gold rush in the world and the Eureka rebellion, Ballarat East is an area steeped in history. Once its own municipality, Ballarat East amalgamated with Ballarat West in 1920-21 to form the City of Ballarat. Only 5-10 minutes from the Ballarat CBD with easy access to the highway to Melbourne and with several primary schools, a secondary school and an abundance of sporting clubs and facilities nearby, Ballarat East is a popular choice for both investors and owner-occupiers alike.
