Bakery Hill is the smallest suburb in the city of Ballarat, with a population of just 164 people approximately (as per the 2016 census). It is primarily a commercial area, mainly known for its restaurants and pubs, as well as fast food eateries around Main Road, Peel Street and Mair Street as well as accommodation businesses and around 70 homes. There is also a Post Office, Kindergarten, PetStock, Reece Plumbing as well as many other larger chain stores. Bakery Hill is one of the most historic suburbs of Ballarat, coming into existence at the beginning of the Gold Rush.
