Waubra is a small town on the Sunraysia Highway, 33 kilometres north west of Ballarat with a population of 275. It is situated in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. The town is known for the Waubra Wind Farm, one of the largest windfarms in Australia. Upon completion, it was the biggest windfarm in the Southern Hemisphere. The Waubra Kangaroos football team competes in the Central Highlands Football League. Waubra has a primary school, three churches, a public hall, a recreation reserve, bowling and tennis facilities, a general store and the Springs Hotel.
