Linton is situated on the Springdallah Creek, approximately 34 kms south-west of Ballarat and is approx 20 minutes’ drive from the Delacombe Town Centre. In the Golden Plains Shire, Linton provides a general store, a café, a friendly country hotel, an antique store, sporting facilities & primary education. There is also the Clarksdale Bird Sanctuary, a nature reserve focused on protecting and restoring habitat for woodland birds. Devil’s Kitchen is an impressive geological reserve in nearby Piggoreet and the Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail runs through Linton, which is ideal for walkers, cyclist or horse riders with stunning scenery & native wildlife. In the last twenty years, there has been an influx of newcomers to the town with an increasing proportion of retirees, 'weekenders' and people seeking a tree change lifestyle, while the history, the facilities and the beauty of the township provides a tranquil place to bring up a family.
